SPCA Donation Day 2024

It’s that time of year again! Time to give.  As promised we donated 12% to our local SPCA animal shelter.   Thank you all for your continued support.  Watch our contribution to SPCA Donation Day 2024.

Looking Forward For Animals in Need

While at the SPCA this year, I talked to shelter staff. I wanted to know if there were any specific items that might be helpful to them to help care for the animals currently there.  Debbi, an SPCA shelter worker gave me lots of ideas.

Here is a list of what. items where requested:

• Canned dog food (affordable cans – quantity matters most)
• Cat toys
• Slow feed bowls (dogs and cats)
• Kong toys
• Blankets
• Small animal toys
• Bird care items

Debbi said when animals are stressed they’ll eat “junk food”, that’s why the quality of the canned food is less important than the quality for now.  It is more important to get the animals eating first.

I was surprised to learn that they occasionally get birds and are least prepared with bird care supplies.

Some thoughts looking forward to next year!  Check back closer to December 2025 to have a say in how we donate.
