Keeping Children and Dogs Safe this Summer

Cynophobia  or fear of dogs.  Summer is coming and that means many outdoor time for everyone, dogs and humans alike.   Unfortunately, dogs can be a common childhood fear for children who haven’t had a lot of experience with dogs or who have had one negative experience that has stayed with them because traumatic to the child.  But thanks to two sisters, who started a youtube channel and website, Good Dog in a Box has a lot of FREE information for parents and children.
Children don’t have to be afraid of dogs.  Teach yourself how to help your child with these great FREE resources to educate parents and children.  The program recognizes that people have all sorts of interactions with dogs, some dogs are part of the family, some dogs are strangers, some dogs are only acquaintances. The program helps children learn in a fun way how to interact safely in a variety of situations involving dogs.

 

 

What is also wonderful about Good Dog in a Box, is that they even describe 5 types of adult supervision.  Who thought there were 5!  I thought about only 1 until I saw this chart they showed on the their site!  Very informative!
