This morning while walking my kids to school and older man with a large dog, stepped aside to let me pass with my young kids in tow.  How generous, I thought.  I don’t see strangers with manners like this anymore.  I thanked him, and he happily went on his way after we passed by.  He had a well behaved dog, who sat at his feet to let all of us walk by.  The obedience in the dog is reassuring to me.  Makes me feel like in that moment my kids would be safe and the dog’s behaviour was congruent with the courtesy offered by the man.
