Building a FitBark Social Community For You and Your Dog

Building a FitBark social community for you and your dog is important for both your health. The World Health Organization describes many determinants of health. Some of which consist of modifiable factors, those we control, and non-modifiable factors, things we cannot control – like our genetics. Being social is considered a modifiable factor, you build a social life, or you chose not too.

The FitBark application takes this important holistic health factor into deep consideration and wants you to excel at it. For the sake of your own health and that of your dog.  You have the choice to build a social community for you and your dog with this dog health monitor collar.

How FitBark Gets You and Your Dog social

Fitbark health monitor does more than monitor your dog.  One of the best functions of this biometric monitor is connecting you and your dog socially to others!

Your dog is already on Facebook and has their own Instagram, so keep them active socially with their FitBark profile.

This is how to connect your dog to a strong social community. First, decide what’s most important to you. Fitbark will provide suggested “Friends” to expand your “pack”. You can choose based on bark points if you want a health and competition focused community, or location.  You may prefer sharing local similarities so pick dogs to add to your “pack” from a similar country.

From the FitBark main menu select “Discover Friends” to browse other dog’s profiles.

Discovering New Friends with FitBark

Now you and your dog are ready to “Discover friends” and create your community, simply select “discover friends” under the user menu of your FitBark app.  Here you will see several FitBark dog profiles – browse by swiping to the left. Each dog is different based on breed, size, bark point per 24 hours, and location.  You decide which dogs you want to add to your dogs “pack requests”.  Chose friends that contribute to building a FitBark social community for you and your dog.

Your dog’s profile will also be displayed for other FitBark users and you may receive invites from others.  You will have the option to accept or deny the requests.  Watch your community grow by reviewing “Invite History”.

Inviting users allows you to add the most important people in you and your dog’s life. This will keep them notified as your dog makes progress and churned health goals.

Keep The People Most Important in Your Dog’s Life Notified

Add people most important in your dog’s world that you want to get notified of changes or progress with your dog’s status.  You can add the dog walker or veterinarian or close family and friends by selecting the “Home Pack” from the main menu.  Tap on your dog’s name in the centre of the profile page (you may need to double tap), you’ll first get a zoomed in profile, and the second tap will reveal a drop down menu.  From this menu select, “manage users”.  Than “Add User” (there is also “Remove Myself” – but we are not learning that today!).  After tapping “Add User”, you will type the email of the person you want to add. You will select whether they are a “Follower”, family, friend or dog walker, dog daycare staff, or groomer for example.  The added person will receive an email for their consent to get alerts about your dog. You can also add a secondary owner or the veterinarian.
